This course is a general elective course for all undergraduate students. It is guided by teachers, participated by students, who will be required to read the novels before class, and do thematic reading and text analysis in class. This course will introduce the literature history in a special way in class, select the classic works of relevant writers, and give guidance to students to do some intensive reading and analysis of composition. On the basis of cultivating students' abilities of reading appreciation, analysis, speculation, aesthetics, critical thinking and language expression, this course will guide students to rethink the relationship between popular literature and serious literature, including their border, connotation, value and evaluation system, so as to cultivate students' basic judgment and aesthetic ability of literature, film and television works in their daily life.
